i like what he says. not sure about how he says it though. his nervous ticks are really distracting. maybe is just better to just listen like radio.
zizekinchina – he starts the discussion of the ‘we’ at 38:04.
zizekinchina – he starts the discussion of the ‘we’ at 0:38:04, runs to 0:41:25.
Is this the great white dope – the bourgeois hero of Marxist academia? Proof surely, if it were needed, that the dream is over.
@adjohnson916 @adjohnson916 Marx is considered one of the most important economists of all times. Marxism is a way to interprete social and historical events from an economics point of view. If there is something marxism has been blamed of that is of being too oriented towards economics.
@adjohnson916 Marxist economist do not oppose completely free market operation because of obscure reasons, but because they believe markets cannot operate without some intervention, which are called “market failure” reasons. We can agree or oppose marxist economics, but deny their existence is nonsense.

thanks for upload
@adjohnson916 Besides, the London School of Economics was founded by the Fabian Society and George Bernard Shaw.
@EvilFercho I understand but those “nervous ticks” give him character.
isn’t there a name for what this guy has.. with all the ticks.. something like ADD or is that something else.. tourette but with tics.. other then that he’s good with philosophy, . only problem i have with him is he concetrates to much on politics.. left/right it doesn’t matter, .. what is at stake is the human mind, ..what is the state of that human mind? ..can that state be in peace? .. such is the discourse that is needed, all else is just politics on philosophical steroids..
around 32:00 when he mentions this realization by this east german computer scientist… It sounds shockingly similar to Fresco’s Resource-Based economy principle of cybernation of production processes and assessment of human needs… cool
capitalism has created the current economic crisis..pure and simple…the apologists are running their spin machine 24/7 to blame everything else…a crisis is a terrible thing to waste…AGITATE…ORGANIZE…..EDUCATE….we can end capitalism in our lifetime..
Thanks very much for putting this up.
If Chichi ever comes again I reckon investment in a tripod would pay aesthetic dividends.

at 1:03:15 Zizek, quoting Terry Eaglton tells about a Marxist Historian. Can anybody catch his name? Could it be Edward. P. Thompson?
@michielr1aert he refers to Eric Hobsbawm – see: watch?v=u0IeOGQElXw
@adycousins many thanks
Some have been asking the name of the friend from India, whom he refers to at the start of the video. I believe it’s Dr. Saroj Giri of the University of Delhi.
What is happening with who is recording the video!??
