Now it’s true that in Matt 16:18 Peter is called a petros (a pebble) and the that the rock that Jesus built HIS church on is a petra (a great rock). Jesus was speaking of Himself – not Peter.

The verses supplied above (1 Samuel 2:2; Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 10:4; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 18:2; 31:3; Luke 6:46-49 and Acts 4:11) prove that in Matthew 16:18 Jesus was speaking of Himself, not Peter.
Also, Peter was not the 1st Pope. It was the sourcerer Simon Magus. See

Note also that we are forbidden to call any man other than God ‘Father’ (Matt 23:9). We’re not even supposed to have a Pope (vs 10)!

The LORD’s Name alone is to be exalted.
The title, ‘Holy Father’ is a title for God alone (John 17:11) — hence for the pope to now proclaim himself a god on earth like Rev. 13:8 said that he would is a direct fulfillment of Rev. 13:1 & Rev 17:3 ~ the Great Whore [RCC] is blashphemous.
Note also that the title ‘Reverend’ is also to be exclusively used for God (Psalm 111:9).
Jesus denounced the Pharisees for doing just that, so would He also not do the same today?
@OFreegal PLease. peter couldnt have been the first pope. that is historically impossible considering the fact that catholicism(by ritual and tradition as opposed to the actual name)started way back in ancient Babylon;where,coincidentally you have the first mention of mass,cardinals,popes,confessionals,etc.so it is impossible.
@0893deuce Greetings. You are correct. Peter was not the first pope. The first pope was actually SIMON MAGUS who was actually a pagan priest which started the universal church of Rome. The Word universal means Catholic. He mixed paganism with Christianity and was in conflict with the real Apostle of Christ Peter. The was such a conflict between the disciples that even Luke had to record it in Acts 8:9-25. He is the first real pope. I am making a video right now about this. thx brother

I honestly don’t like this pope at all, or really even the concept of a pope but what do ANY of those titles have to do with the Anti-Christ? Not to mention the fact that the Anti-Christ is the Great Deceiver so you’re not going to be able to look and go “This man is the Anti-Christ.” Hundreds of millions of people will believe he is God.
